The Secretary of the Ministry

Jovan Stojić was born in Belgrade on November 5, 1971 where he still lives and works. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, majoring in administrative law in 1996.

He is currently acting as the Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, having been appointed to this position at the Republic of Serbia Government session held on May 11, 2023.

Mr. Stojić began his career in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, where he worked as an officer in administrative affairs at the City Secretariat for Internal Affairs of Belgrade, Department of Internal Affairs of Savski Venac, from March 1995 to October 1996. After that, he has worked within the National Security purview of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, in operational roles, from November 1996 to November 2002.

He was employed at the National Security Agency (BIA) in operational roles as well from December 2002 to August 2015. Mr. Stojić held various positions during that period, including Deputy Chief of the Director's Cabinet of BIA from March 2005 to June 2008, Chief of the Director's Cabinet of BIA from June 2008 to August 2013 and the Advisor to the Director of BIA for European Integrations and Legal Affairs from August 2013 to June 2015. Additionally, he has been serving as the authorized person for official public communication and spokesperson from September 2008 to June 2015.

He worked in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications from August 2015 to May 2023, where he served as an Assistant Minister and the Head of the Normative and Administrative Affairs Department and the Normative, Administrative and European Integration Affairs Department later on.

He passed the bar examination in 2003 and completed the Business School for Public Relations in 2009. He possesses English language proficiency at the B2 level.

He is the father of two sons: Alexandar (19) and Petar (12).
